The stories that tell of the birth of Jesus Christ are some of the most familiar stories in all of Christianity. We have all seen dozens of Christmas Nativity Plays, and maybe even participated in a few ourselves. But as effective and clear as they may seem to us today, we need to remember that the people who anticipated the birth of the Messiah the most, and continually studied to detect when that would be, never saw a single one of the stories of the birth of Jesus as a part of the story of the Messiah. It is not just knowing the stories that cause us to grow in faith and understanding. It is seeing that God had always planned for His Son, Jesus Christ the Messiah to come to this earth and change the world.
Perhaps as we examine the thousand year(s) old prophecies they fulfilled; we will see the hand of God moving to produce what He always said would happen. God would interrupt history by sending His Son and He would change the world. In these Scriptures are those teachings that changed the world.
Join with us at ‘Hope Looks Up’ as we study in detail the Prophesies of Jesus, His Ministry, and His Appearances in the Old Testament. This is the second part of a two-part study I have written on the prophesies of Jesus Christ. I titled the study, “Fulfilling Bible Prophesies Jesus Did It Best.” A comprehensive study of the Biblical prophecies Jesus fulfilled in history.
